This is a question I’ve been asked by several clients lately and the answer is simple…yes. If you are going to the expense to remodel a room in your home, don’t you want to make sue the layout and use of space is the best it can possibly be? Contractors are great and absolutely necessary in a renovation project but your contractor didn’t go to design school and isn’t keeping up with the latest design trends and newest items to hit the market.
I met with one of my clients this morning who had several contractors and kitchen cabinet designers tell them that their existing layout was the best they could do with their kitchen. It is a challenging space but they weren’t satisfied with those responses so they reached out to me and asked if I saw any other options. And I did, I came back to them with 7 (ok, let me repeat that)…7 different layouts for their kitchen that other kitchen designers and contractors didn’t even consider. They were blown away and are so happy that they took the extra time to hire a professional before they started their kitchen renovation. Here is an example of the type of renderings and designs I provide using my design software, Chief Architect.
So yes, I would say there is REAL value in hiring an interior designer who is also a kitchen designer like me. You are investing a lot of money to improve your single biggest asset, your home…doesn’t it make sense to work with a professional to get the best layout and design solutions for your home??
Now on to the next question…who am I and why should you care? I’m an interior designer, owner of Haggard Home Group and have been a kitchen & bath designer for almost 20 years. That adds up to hundreds of kitchen designs and tons of renovations. I’ve seen the good, the bad and the ugly and know what pitfalls to help you avoid. I partner with contractors to ensure they deliver and execute my design plan and create your dream home.
